Before I moved to Colorado I had no idea what a Moscow Mule was. I can’t remember ever seeing them on a menu anywhere else. It’s possible I was just missing them but they were definitely not on every cocktail menu as they are here.
It wasn’t until I asked what everyone was drinking out of a copper mug that I learned what a Moscow Mule was. I have to admit seeing a drink served out of a beautiful copper mug made me want to try the drink regardless of what was in it.
Luckily for me a Moscow Mule contains 3 of my favorite flavors: lime, ginger, and vodka.
Since I love mules so much I finally decided to make them at home. They are super easy to make and you can customize them to whatever you want! For me customizing means adding some mint and a little more vodka.
The result is what I think is the perfect drink! This recipe is refreshing and perfect for summertime.
If you don’t have a copper mug no worries you can just make this in a small cocktail glass. I also found when I made this recipe I still had room in my mug so I decided to double the recipe and it fit perfectly!
Notes
* this recipe easy doubles as I found that my copper mug can fit a double recipe
